Never affects the risk of a CV on the health of the heart, but also affects other organs, including the brain, as experts say.

It seems that the elderly who have the best cardiovascular health carry fewer risks to the development of nervous degeneration, according to the analysis of the Chicago health and aging project (Chap).

The highest level of cardiovascular health according to the American Heart Association Simple Life 7 The tool has been associated with a much lower serum levels than the NFL series, a sign of axial damage and nervous reproduction, in adults of 65 years or greater.

Results, It was published on the Internet This week in the Jama Open, “Compatibility with other research on CV Health and Misegenering Complete,” said the main author Anisa Dhana, MD (Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL), TCTMD via email. “Encouraging heart healthy behaviors such as maintaining normal blood pressure, exercising, and a balanced diet may slow down cognitive decrease and reduce the risk of dementia.”

Commenting on TCTMD, Anum Saeed, MD (Pittsburgh University College, PA) said it has become evident over the years that cardiovascular disease and risk factors have links to neurological results, including stroke and dementia, and this new study adds to growing literature that shows the heart connection in the brain.

Saeed noticed that her team Publish a study Earlier this year, there was a link between the risk of middle -aged cardiovascular and nervousness. She said: “I think that we, as doctors, need to know that cardiovascular risk factors not only affect cardiovascular disease, but they have this general risk with all other organs.”

A simple message to patients

Although previous research showed relations between the health of the CV and the risks of Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, there was less information about the links between heart health and vital indicators of nervous degeneration.

To explore the issue, Dhana and its colleagues have turned into Chap, a study of risk factors for weak knowledge weakness, Alzheimer's disease, and other dementia among the elderly who live in Chicago, Illinois. The current analysis included 1018 participants (an average age of 73.1 years; 61.4 % of women) who have information about the serum levels from the American Football Association and Tau (T-TAU), and on the components of simple life 7-healthy diet, exercise, natural body mass index, non-smoking, dyslipidia management, sugars, and blood increase. Most of them (60 %) were black, and the rest were white.

The regiment has been divided into three groups according to its healthy twenties, the biography of those who have a high degree tending to be white (64.3 %) and have a high level of education (average 13.6 years).

Compared to those with low health degrees of CV, those with high levels of NFL in the blood that were 18.9 % less relative (P <0.001) as well as a slower annual increase in NFL levels (by 1.7 %; P = 0.04).

There are no such links for T-TAU. Although both the American Football Association and T-TAU are vital indicators of nervous degeneration, “increased plasma levels from NFL and T-TAU may be attributed to different risk factors and paths to neurological degenerative diseases”, explains Dhana et al in their paper.

“In particular, the American Football Association is a sign of nervous damage, and a partially nervous axis damage has been attributed to brain injuries, including brain vascular diseases,” and they continue. “Cardiovascular health includes vascular risk factors, such as high blood pressure and diabetes, known to contribute to damage to blood vessels, and therefore, the safety of the blood barrier in the brain, thus increasing nervous damage and raising the levels of the American Football Association.”

Saeed said that the study message for patients is simple.

“Learn your numbers and get your disease early if you have risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol,” I advised. “You have to make sure that you are checking these numbers and you keep them. It is clear, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, a healthy diet, etc..”

Although more information about the social determinants of health will add another layer to this research, at the moment, she said: “As a doctor, I tell my patients that if you want a healthy brain, you should keep a healthy heart. This is something we can control.”

We, as doctors, need to know that cardiovascular risk factors not only affect cardiovascular diseases. I am happy

More research is needed to study the additional vital indicators of nervous degeneration, such as Tau, and to determine the extent of sleep quality – which was added as an eighth component in cardiovascular health Basic Life 8– It may affect the results.

Saeed said: “There are more risk factors that we need to calculate as a cardiovascular society and also understand how these risk factors change, because with our age, most of our patients suffer from these problems.” “How does this affect the risk of future dementia and nervous reproduction? I think this is a kind of invitation to the research community.”
