New York – US Health Minister Robert F. logo. Kennedy Junior is “making America healthy again”, but government discounts may make it difficult to know if it happens.

It seems that more than ten data collection programs that follow deaths and disease have been eliminated in the Hurricane Limbunity of Workers and Suggested Budget Discounts in the first 100 days of the Trump administration.

The Associated Press studied the draft and final budget proposals and spoke to more than ten current and previous federal employees to determine the scope of discounts in programs that follow the basic facts about Americans' health.

Among those who have been terminated in the centers of diseases control and prevention of experts that follow abortion, pregnancy, injuries related to function, leading heaven, sexual violence and young smoking.

“If you do not have employees, the program goes,” said Patrick Breeze, who used to oversee environmental health programs for the Disease Control Center.

Federal officials have not given public accounting for specific monitoring programs.

Instead, a spokeswoman for the US Department of Health and Humanitarian Services referred to AP to the Trump administration budget on Friday. He lacked the details, but he suggested reducing the budget of the center of control over the basic diseases in more than half and pledging to focus the monitoring center of diseases only on emerging and infectious diseases.

Kennedy said that some of the work of the Disease Control Center will be transferred to an agency that has not yet been created, which is the proper America administration. He also said that the cuts are designed to get rid of waste in the section that has seen its budget growth in recent years.

“Unfortunately, this additional spending and employees did not improve our nation's health as a country,” Kennedy wrote last month in the New York Post. “Instead, it has created more waste, administrative and duplicate bloates.”

However, some health experts say that the few programs are not repeated, and that their erasure will leave the Americans in the dark.

“If the United States is interested in making itself healthier again, how will it know it, if it cancels the programs that help us understand these diseases?” Graham Moni, public health historian at Johns Hopkins University, said.

The essence of health monitoring in the country is made by the National Center for Health Statistics at the Center for Disease Control. Depending on birth and death certificates, it generates information about birth rates, death trends and life expected. It also manages long -term health surveys that provide basic data on obesity, asthma and other health issues.

The center has barely touched workers, and it seems sound under the current budget plans.

But many other efforts were targeted by the discounts, found AP. Some examples:

Pregnancy and miscarriage

A pregnancy risk assessment system, which marketed women throughout the country, has an entire employee – about 20 people.

It is a collection of data that is more comprehensive about and after and after birth. The researchers use its data to investigate the mothers' death problem.

He also destroyed modern workers' demobilization operations to eliminate employees who collect data on laboratory fertilizers and miscarriages.

These discounts are particularly surprising, given that President Donald Trump said he wanted to expand the scope of artificial insemination and that the playing book for the Heritage Foundation 2025 for his administration called for more observation of abortion.

Shot

The Center for Disease Control canceled its program to poisoning with bullets in children, which helped local health departments – through financing and experience – to investigate bullet poisoning groups and find the place of danger.

Gunning poisoning in children usually stems from exposure to a diameter of ancient paint, contaminated dust, or drinking water that passes through lead tubes. But the program's employees also played an important role in investigating chopped apples with bullets, which affected 500 children.

Last year, Melocke officials realized that peeling paint in local primary schools was endangering children. The Ministry of Health in the city started working with the Disease Control Center to test tens of thousands of students. This assistance stopped last month when CDC staff were completed.

City officials are particularly concerned about losing experience to help them track long -term effects.

“We don't know what we do not know,” said Mike Toturitis, the city's health commissioner.

Environmental investigations

The employees of the 23 -year -old environmental health tracking program, who had information about concerns, including potential cancer groups and weather diseases.

Press said: “The loss of this program will significantly reduce the ability to make links between what may be in the environment and what may be affected by health.”

Sexual data

In some cases, it is not the issue of leaving employees, but rather the end of specific types of data collection.

The state of transgender people in health tracking systems is no longer registered, including those that focus on violent deaths and risky behaviors by children.

Thomas Simon, a newly retired scientific director in the Violence Prevention Department in the Violence Prevention Department at the Center for Disease Control, said that experts know that transgender people are more vulnerable to the victim, but now “it will be more difficult to determine the extent of their exposure.”

violence

It seems that employees and financing have been healthy to collect diseases of the Disease Control Center providing an insight into murders, suicide and accidental deaths involving weapons.

But the violent prevention programs that acted on this information have been stopped. Therefore, also, working on a system that collects hospital data for non -deadly injuries such as shooting, disruption and drowning.

It also seems to stay away from the national partner, the national partner and sexual violence at the Center for Disease Control. The system is designed to capture information that is not in law enforcement statistics. Health officials believe that this work is important, because not all victims of sexual violence go to the police.

Work injuries

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, which tracks the diseases and mortality of the job and provides recommendations on how to prevent them, has been destroyed by the cuts.

Kennedy said that 20 % of the demobilized people may restore the agency to correct errors.

This seemed to happen last month, when the American Federation told government employees that Niosh workers participating in the black lung disease program for coal miners had been temporarily summoned.

But HHS officials have not answered questions about a re -repetition. “We are worried about this is to give the appearance that the programs are still working, when they are not effective,” said Mika Nimi Walsh at AFGE later that the workers continued on the termination of June.

There was no talk about saving some other NIOSH programs, including the first focusing on death in the workplace in the oil and gas industries or a research project on the extent of hearing loss in that industry.

Smoking and drugs

HHS discounts, the 17 -member team responsible for the national survey on drug use and health, is one of the main methods that the government measures drug.

The employees of the Disease Control Center were also worked in the National Tobacco Tobacco Survey.

There are other surveys that see young smoking and drug use, including a “monitoring of the future” that was funded by the University of Michigan in the future.

But federal studies looked at both adults and adolescents, and provided an insight into drug abuse by high school leaks. The Center for Disease Control has also been searched for specific products for tobacco and tobacco in roads where there are no other survey studies, and it was a driver in the federal batch for better electronic cigarette regulation.

“There was an overlap between investigative studies, but everyone had his own focus that others have not covered,” said Richard Mitch, who leads Michigan's study.

Update data and forecasts

It has been out of work on updating the data collection. This includes an upgrade to a 22 -year -old system that helps local public health departments to track diseases and allows the Center for Disease Control to collect a national image.

Another victim was the center of prediction and the spread of analyzes, which tried to predict the directions of the disease.

The center, which was created during the Covid-19s, was working to predict the current multi-state. These expectations were not partially published due to the demobilization of workers, according to officials at the Center for Disease Control and who spoke, provided that his identity was not disclosed because they are not authorized to discuss it and their fear of speaking to the press.

Trump has not always supported a widespread test of health problems.

In the spring of 2020, when Covid-19 diagnoses explode, the president stumbles that the nation's ability to conduct more tests is to make the United States seem to have a worse problem than other countries. He called a “double -edged sword” test.

Money, Johns Hopkins historian, wondering how much the new administration is interested in reporting health problems.

He said, “You can think it's deliberate.” “If you prevent people from knowing, they are less likely to worry.”
