Guardsmen, Airmen and civilians celebrate the fifth birthday of the U.S. Space Force after a formal cake-cutting ceremony at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Dec. 20, 2024. Members enjoyed a taste of cake and continued with comrades honoring the five years of the Space Force. Of continued dedication to protecting our country and its people. The USSF was established on December 20, 2019, when the National Defense Authorization Act was signed into law, creating the first new branch of the armed services in 73 years.
