Tony Arnold covers Illinois politics for WBEZ. His investigations ranged from a sprawling federal corruption investigation into Commonwealth Edison's lobbying activities to an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease at a Quincy veterans' home that led to the deaths of more than a dozen residents. He also covered Illinois' unprecedented two-year budget impasse, the Chicago mayor's election, the national political conventions, and edited the daily news desk. He has received numerous local and national awards for his reporting.
Tony holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies from the University of Miami. He previously worked at WNIJ in DeKalb, Illinois and WMUB in Oxford, Ohio. His first job in journalism was as a stringer's writer, recording statistics for local high school sports.
