Arts and Entertainment Events in Chicago
April 6-7
Morgan MFG, $25 and up
We’ve all been there. After spring cleaning, there’s always that moment when you realize your home needs more stuffed animals, medical items, and other beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and possibly haunted, knick-knacks. Seriously, this moment is not to be missed—nor is the Saturday night after-party.
April 7
Lake view, free
If you’ve ever been to Schubas Garage Sale and Vintage Market, you know there’s no better place to buy vintage clothing, band posters, handmade artwork, and other items that help boost your hipster credentials. Stop by, grab a Chicago Handshake, and pick up some Christmas gifts for the Aries and Taurus in your life.
April 13
Episode, $75 and up
As if you needed an excuse to visit the Chicago Athletic Association, they’re pulling out all the stops to host a fashion party/fundraiser that will showcase the worst styles you’ve ever seen—literally. Contestants will create fashion week-worthy outfits out of trash, recycled materials, recycled materials, and other “post-consumer” goods, and then show off their looks on the runway. And if that wasn’t enough, there’ll also be a silent auction, dancing, crafts, appetizers, and of course, a bar. The best part? All funds raised will go back to The Wasteshed’s mission to serve Chicago’s creative and educational communities.
April 19-20
Edgewater, free!
Here’s a reminder to chill out on April 20 this year—yes, for safety, but also to make sure you’re not in a bad mood when the Spring Greening Night Market rolls around. More than 50 local vendors will be selling 420-inspired goods, snacks, and drinks, all while DJs spin dance-worthy tunes. Grab your Daisy Cutter, grab some gear, and enjoy.
