Federal authorities believe a Jordanian immigrant arrested while trying to enter the United States across its northern border is a terrorist, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement clearance operations in Seattle.
The agency said in a press release on Wednesday that Muhammad Hassan Abdel Latif Al-Banna (41 years old) was arrested near the northern border of the city of Linden, Washington. It is not clear when or where he infiltrated the country.
The US immigration official described Albana as a “known or suspected terrorist,” the agency said.
Albana was returned to Jordan on November 15 after immigration procedures, according to the agency.

The interim staff report also found that immigration judges granted bail to at least 27 migrants on a watch list who entered illegally, and that Border Patrol encountered tens of thousands of migrants from countries that could pose national security risks — including 2,134 Afghan nationals. And 33,347 Chinese. Two citizens, 541 Iranian citizens, 520 Syrian citizens, and 3,104 Uzbek citizens.

“This does not include the untold numbers of potential terrorists who have evaded border patrols to enter the United States as part of nearly 2 million escapes since the beginning of the Biden-Harris administration,” the report says.

The report, citing information provided to committee staff in June, found that border guards encountered migrants on the terrorism watch list from 36 different countries — including places with an active terrorist presence. These countries include Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan and Yemen.
