CHICAGO (CVM) — Six people were wounded in a shooting on Chicago’s West Side early Friday morning, according to Chicago police.

Location and Time
The Chicago Police Department said officers responded to a report of a person shot just before 1:45 a.m. in the 100 block of South Menard Street in South Austin and found multiple victims.
The Shooting
Police reported that the injuries occurred when two people started shooting at each other. The shooters fled the scene, and no arrests have been made.
Victims
- An 18-year-old girl was shot in the leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
- A 23-year-old man was shot in the leg and taken to West Suburban Medical Center in good condition.
- A 23-year-old man was shot in the hip and taken to Loyola Hospital in good condition.
- A 20-year-old woman was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
- A 25-year-old man was shot in the arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
- A 15-year-old boy was shot in the back and taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
Investigation
It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting. Just an hour before the West Side shooting, eight people were wounded in a shootout in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood. Detectives from the 4th District are investigating the incident.
