One man has died and two others were taken to an Evanston hospital after a shooting near the Howard Red Line station in Rogers Park Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 2:50 p.m. in the 1600 block of West Howard Street, according to Chicago police. Howard Station is located nearby, at 7519 N. Paulina St.
Police said the three men were near the sidewalk when someone in a car approached them and a passenger opened fire.
A 29-year-old man was injured by gunshots to his neck, back and abdomen. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The police said that another man (18 years old) was shot in the chest and taken to the same hospital, where he was in critical condition.
The third victim, a 20-year-old man, was in good condition at St. Francis Hospital after being shot in the shoulder, police said.
No one was in custody.
