Seven people were shot, one of them fatally, during a prayer vigil in Little Village on Saturday evening, police said.

Police said people were gathered for a vigil outside a home in the 2500 block of South Spaulding Street when someone got out of a Jeep and opened fire on the crowd shortly after 10 p.m.

Froilan Garcia, 32, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Police leave flyers at homes in the 2500 block of South Spaulding Street in Little Village on Sunday seeking information about the mass shooting that occurred the night before.

Other victims were also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were listed in good condition.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the right thigh, a 51-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, and a 35-year-old man was shot in the top of the head. A 39-year-old man was shot in the left leg and right hand. A 48-year-old man and a man estimated to be in his 30s were also shot in the leg.

On Sunday morning, a memorial made up of candles and beer bottles was set up near the scene of the shooting. Police knocked on doors and left flyers asking residents to call them with information about the shooting. Neighbors declined to speak to reporters.

No arrests have been made, and District 4 detectives are investigating.
