On Thursday, June 13, Administrator Isabel Casillas Guzman, head of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and a voice in President Biden's government for more than 33 million small businesses in America, will travel to Chicago, Illinois for the Opportunity Finance Network conference. OFN) Small Business Finance Forum, celebrating Pride Month, and kicking off the SBA Small Business Prosperity Tour.
In the morning, Director Guzman will join OFN President and CEO Harold Pettigrew for a friendly conversation at OFN's Small Business Finance Forum. Following the discussion, Director Guzman will lead a child care roundtable where she will highlight the essential role small businesses play in the child care ecosystem. The roundtable will be closed to members of the media.
Director Guzman will then travel to the mHUB Center for Hard Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Innovation, where she will meet with members of the leadership staff as well as mHUB manufacturers who have used the Innovation Center to grow their businesses.
Following her visit to mHUB, Director Guzman will kick off the SBA Small Business Prosperity Tour and celebrate Pride Month by visiting three local LGBTQI+ community-owned small businesses. Manager Guzman's first stop will be a local landscaping company. You'll then travel to a nearby bakery and café that will celebrate their soft opening with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Finally, you'll visit a lighting manufacturing company where you'll highlight how President Biden's agenda to invest in America has ignited a boom in domestic manufacturing and the essential role these investments play in small business prosperity.
