Chicago – The number of shootings and killings in Chicago decreased last February compared to the same period last year, as it continued in the post -guardianship direction for the decline in crime accidents.
These final figures came from the Chicago police administration data that were collected and released monthly.

At the city level, there were 20 murders during February this year, according to CPD.
This number decreased by 31 % compared to February from 2024 and 49 % of February from 2023.
The number of shootings in Chicago decreased last month, 75 years, dramatically from 2024 (129) and 2023 (135).

During the first two months of 2025, fires decreased around 25 % compared to 2024, according to CPD data. This is the lowest number of shootings since 2019.
During February, the total robbery and stealing operations with a firearm decreased by 39 %, according to CPD.
There was also a 40 % decrease in car theft.
The robberies also decreased by 25 % compared to this time last year.
