On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Austria on their National Day.
The friendship between our peoples goes back to the early days of the American Republic. Today, our partnership includes strong cooperation on a range of global and regional security issues, such as energy security, sanctions enforcement, protection of democracy and human rights, disarmament and non-proliferation. We are also proud of our strong people-to-people educational ties, embodied in the new bilateral professional development and cultural exchange program launched earlier this year.
We thank the Government and people of Austria for joining us in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and for your political, economic, humanitarian and diplomatic engagement on behalf of the Ukrainian people and their freedom.
