CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police continue to investigate after eight people were shot, three of them fatally, at a house party in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood Monday afternoon.
Those who live in the neighborhood are concerned.

Maria del Carmen Guidirrama has just opened a nutrition store at the corner of 59th Street and St. Louis Avenue on Sunday is called Nutrition 59.
The day after its grand opening, there was a shooting in the street
“I'm shocked, yes. I'm amazed,” she said. “I'm surprised this area has so many kids walking through it.”
Chicago police were called to a home where a mass shooting had previously occurred.
She said it was very scary to see so many people walking out on stretchers dressed up, as if they were attending a party.
Neighbors confirmed that what started as a large house party Monday afternoon ended in a fatal shooting.
Chicago police responded to the home just after 2 p.m
Eight people were shot, four men and four women between the ages of 20 and 35.
Three men died.
Two were identified Tuesday.
John Carlos Blancarcer, 28, and Hector M. Sajo, 26, were shot multiple times, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.
“The girls were very young, and the men were also very young,” Guederama said.
City Mayor Brandon Johnson offered his condolences, saying in a statement:
“We as a city pray and grieve for all the victims, survivors and their families. There is no place in our city for senseless acts of violence.”

Meanwhile, investigators have not yet determined a motive or whether the suspect was injured in the shooting.
“We will solve this crime and find the individuals responsible for this heinous and horrific incident,” said Civilian Police Department Deputy Chief John Hein.
Police said they had been called to this house before.
“You hear the music, and people are coming in and out, like smoking, with drinks in their hands,” Towers said. “There were more than 20 people.”
The sheriff's office said it will work closely with CPD to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
The shooting occurred in the 14th District, adjacent to the 15th District, which belongs to Alderman Ray Lopez.
Lopez said he was told police had been called to the home several times in recent months.
But he is not aware of any violent incidents there.
There is no one in custody.
Some neighbors said they believed an immigrant family had been living in the house for the past few months.
Chicago police and city building inspectors returned to the scene Tuesday.
