Three members of the mayor's administration Brandon Johnson announced their exits on Thursday, days after the mayor delivered a warning about the clearance of city officials who lack loyalty to him.
The Council of Ministers, Jimmy Rey, leaves the Commissioner of the Ministry of Aviation, and Jose Terrado, Director of the Emergency and Communications Administration Office.
Separately, Joe Calvilo, chief strategy official in the mayor, resigned this week less than a year after his appointment to support the contact efforts that are struggling to manage at that time and build the vision of the student mayor.
Andrea Kirsten, head of the civil police accountability office, also announced her resignation from a clear offer from the Civil Supervision Committee of Chicago Police to topple it.
The outstanding exits came at the same week, Johnson warned of a potential incoming shooting boom, focusing on adhering to the departments of the Mayor of Al -Mady, although the capabilities of Calvilo and Kirsten do not seem to be part of any cleansing, given that the first was resigned after he took Johnson after Johnson took the office, and the latter's position is not under the control of the mayor.
In the “Faith in the Government Tour” committee on Monday night in the new Bumaian Banque Church – it was not included in the general table of the mayor – Johnson answered a question by Reverend Stephen J. Thorston II was what he would have done differently in his first two years in office with: “I would have cleaned the house faster.”
On Thursday, RHEE and Tirado – which were popular for weeks – fell, despite its framing as “retirement” and “transmission”, respectively.
Johnson said in his remarks on Monday that he kept some of the employees who “did not agree with (him) 100 %” when he became a mayor, in an attempt to show a “divine offer” and his ability to work with others.
“If you are not with us, you just have to go. Now, I'm in a situation now where I will make some decisions in the coming days, because gentle play with other people was not about us, it is just a waste of exercise,” Johnson said.
The Johnson Administration and the new employer of Cook State, Eileen O'Neill Burke, tried to distance Trado from the promise to clean Johnson's house Thursday evening.
OEMC spokeswoman Mary Mai wrote in a statement that the departure of Terando has been “planned since early January”, and O'Neill Burke said in a statement that she was “overwhelmed” to employ him “and his professionalism is estimated to want to spend the appropriate time to move responsibilities from OEMC.”
The heads of the new municipalities have the discretionary authority and the employment of most officials in their management as they see appropriate, but Johnson struggled with the implementation of the decisions of prominent employees in his first two years as mayor. His team from the beginning is the non -reliable employees who considered him loyal to his predecessor, Mayor Laurie Laifot, and sought to get out of stopping operations despite the lack of a always alternative plan.
Johnson's transitional team, the city's deputy mayor in international government affairs, launched Beth Betty, before taking office in May 2023, only to rehabilitate it quickly. Later in August, the mayor, Public Health Commissioner, Dr. Alison Arodi, launched in a manner that told the NBC 5 “is really annoying”, similar to the rapid dismissal in March 2024 from Irene Harki, Commissioner of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.
The Bodio Martinez, Executive Director of Public Schools at Chicago, Chicago, who chose Johnson to continue until the Teachers Union's contract extended for a very long time, caused political and legal epic for months to continue today.
Cuba stood up
COPA's director, COPA, announced her resignation as the agency's head, who is investigating the use of force accidents by Chicago police officers. The mayor does not have the power of employment or shooting on this appointment – the city's civil committee in the city.
“Over the past four years, his honor to lead this agency has been in the service of all Chicago residents and I am incredibly proud of the transformative work that was accomplished during the period of my state,” Kirsten said in a statement. “Cuba has created itself as a really independent and transparent voice in the broader community safety system in Chicago, which is necessary in building confidence in the police accountability.”
Kirsten was appointed to lead the Cuba in February 2022 after joining the agency in the previous year and was a lightning rod to check for most of its mandate, despite the famous increase in the agency in cases of closure.
Chicago Police Director Larry Senelj has strictly evaluated the agency's investigation practices during a police board meeting in 2024, and the brother of the police remained a strong critic as well.
FOP President John Katranzara told the Tribune newspaper on Thursday that the Community Committee for Public Safety and accountability is scheduled to recommend to the city council to expel Kirsten.
“We had very reliable information who voted to make a recommendation for the end,” Katanzara said.
Anthony, a driver, CCPSA president, refused to comment on Thursday.
Johnson administration graduated
In a move that seemed not linked to the Johnson plan that was warned to topple Holdovers, one of the senior counselors chosen with a mayor announced that he would leave the city after less than a year in the team.
Calvilo, chief strategy officer in the mayor, said on Thursday that he would leave his role in Chicago to work in SPORTS Solidarity, an organization that is progressing in organized work in professional sport. Johnson Calvilo rented the new role of the strategy last March in a clear effort to support the contact efforts that are fighting in his administration at the time.
Calvilo, 32, was exploited after a period of a work manager for the Senator John Vitirman, De Pa, and before that she worked in the 2020 presidential presidential campaign.
Calvilo said: “The honor of honor was to go to the city hall every day and fight for the working class in Chicago.”
Meanwhile, Johnson praised in a statement on Thursday Rhee to leave “an indelible sign on our airports and our city.” He then thanked Terado for helping to oversee discounts in crime and the “successful” national democratic agreement.

Ashraf, who was appointed by Mayor Ram Emmanuel, Ashraf and Midway's airports, Ashraf Rai, Ashraf and Midway airports, Ashraf Rai, the main drivers of the city's economy. Recently, it helped lead in an effort to repair large parts of Awhar, who sometimes incited Johnson against the Congress delegation in Illinois. Ri thanked her employees in a statement and said that she was “firmly grateful for the opportunities that were given to me and … very proud of the work that was accomplished.”
The veteran commissioner for seven years supervised the Chicago airports, as it achieved the Covid-19s, which represents some of the most difficult moments in the modern memory of the air travel. When the activity began to recover from its lowest levels, the recovery in O'Hare, Linchpin in the country's airspace, remained slow, as commercial travel was slow to return and one of the main airlines at the airport began converting the focus to another place.
By November 2024, the last month of available data, this year's O'Hare travelers were closer to prenatal levels, reaching 95 % of 2019 numbers. Passenger movement was in the middle of the road exceeding prenatal levels.
Rey also supervised the main construction projects in the two airports, including the completion of the redesign of Ohair runways to reduce the delay at the crowded airport after about 20 years of advertising the project.

He did not sit another major construction project during the Ray period. Work is scheduled to replace station 2 with a new global station and add two satellite Concourses the focus of a comprehensive reform of airport stations.
TIRADO FIRST as Acting Manager at OEMC at the end of Lightfoot before his appointment permanently Johnson in this role in December 2023. His office helped secure federal funding for Western floods and the city's handling plans with major events such as Lollapalooza NASCAR Street.
OEMC also receives emergency calls in the city and sends the police, firefighters and ambulances, which puts it in a major position to oversee Johnson's plans to change the way the first respondents interact with mental health calls.
A source close to Terado said that he had resigned to the city earlier this year to take over at the Bureau of Investigation at the Cook County attorney office.
The last departures announced the retirement of CTA Durfal Carter, who announced last month. Carter, who was appointed to lead the City sister agency by Emmanuel in 2015, faced increasing criticism and pressure for resignation, but Johnson has publicly pushed Carter critics.
Leaders who have been appointed for the first time by former municipal heads are still chairing the Park Province and the city's streets and sanitation, the fire department and other main city agencies. But based on the mayor's warning on Monday, there may be more circulating heads soon.
“Everyone does not have this Joseph dominates,” Johnson mocked the audience. “There is a whole group of people like, Oh, shooting, who is about to shoot? “Well, you are about to know that, watch out.”
