CHICAGO (WLS) — A man was shot and killed on the city’s north side, according to Chicago police.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Howard Street in the Rogers Park neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to calls of shots fired and found a 38-year-old man lying on the ground. The victim was shot in the back of the head and died at the scene. His identity has not been released.
No one is in custody. CPD District 3 detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
Howard Street was closed between Marshfield and Paulina during the investigation. The CTA rerouted southbound 147 Outer DuSable Lake Shore Drive express buses due to the closure.
