The former SBA's former Great Lakes, the recent announcement of the US Small Business Administration that it will transfer its regional office outside Chicago will have a nominal impact on the services, especially since the provincial office in the state will remain in the city.
Jerry Sanchez Volgalibai, a former SBA Great Lake Regional Company, based in Chicago, said the news created confusion and warning and sent a harmful message against migrants from the administration of President Donald Trump.
SBA said in a press statement on March 6 that it will transfer its regional office from Chicago and five other an atmosphere, including Atlanta, Boston, Denver, New York and Seattle, to punish cities that do not comply with immigration and customs efforts in the United States.
“SBA services will not be affected by the transfer of the regional office in Chicago,” SBA spokeswoman Mary Owen Thomas, SBA spokeswoman for the Great Lakes Region. “The timeline of the regional office step is imminent, but we expect it to happen in the coming months.”
But the agency's largest office in Illinois will remain in its current location. Regional staff shares an office with SBA County employees at 332 S. Michigan Ave.
Aglipay said that the transfer of the regional office will not significantly affect SBA services in Chicago or Illinois. The regional center oversees the offices of the provinces and coordinated them in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Ouhayu and Yistsen.
When she was the official during the era of President Joe Biden, the regional office in the Great Lakes had three employees, including herself. On the contrary, Illinois County Office had about ten employees.
Currently, there are nine employees of Illinois Province in Chicago and two in Springfield, according to SBA. The agency did not say that it would transfer the boycott office.
However, employment in many federal offices is in a state of flow as the Trump administration reduces government workers. The demobilization of workers last week in the US Department of Education includes at least 50 employees in Chicago. Discounts in the Environmental Protection Agency may affect the workers stationed in Chicago.
As a regional official, Aglipay supervised the SBA field offices in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Ouhayu Weskonen of her office in Chicago. She often traveled through Illinois and to the neighboring states. Aglipay was appointed as a regional official by Biden in January 2022 and was shot in January.
Although SBA has not issued an official announcement, the new SBA Great Lake's regional official is the Evertt Woodll leader who is based in Ohio, according to SBA.
SBA does not export funding for small companies directly. People apply for SBA loans through banks and participating lenders.
In Illinois, 2,832 new loans supported from SBA were spent in the 2024 fiscal year ending September 30, according to the agency.
SBA has at least one boycott office in each state, according to its website. In Illinois, the agency's services include linking companies to lenders, advice, federal contract certificates and helping disaster recovery.

Aglipay said that the SBA Declaration showed “Trump's solid line against immigration policy … This is in line with what the Trump administration feels is its priority.”
Aglipay said it reflects the “anti -migration bias” and sends a message that immigrants will not be presented. This approach is harmful to the economy that depends on immigrant business owners, especially in Chicago, where it owns a large number of companies or run by immigrants.
Aglipay said: “The good government of small companies does not act as a Urrolian police police to instill the fear that it will hinder access to economic opportunities, especially by the majority of small business owners on average and the working class in America.”
“Instead, it helps the good government in regulating trade for small companies to ensure that they get a level, and a fair and fair confrontation against billionaires and multinationals out of equity and fairness.”
