Chicago (CBS)-After a week's decline, Illinois health officials report a rise in the diseases of the influenza.
According to the Ministry of Health in Illinois, “influenza is spinning a larger” with the decrease in Covid-19 and RSV cases in the state.
Health officials said that there are three times the admission of hospitals for influenza as there were for other respiratory diseases during the week ending January 25. IDPH 7.8 % of influenza emergency emergency visits, 1.6 % of Covid-19 visits, and 0.7 % of RSV visits.
The state reported the activity of a high respiratory disease in late December before the cases decreased to “moderate” in January. After a week, the respiratory activity moved to “high” again due to the increase in influenza.
IDPH said that “respiratory disease” in their data includes influenza, Covid-19 and RSV. However, the influenza leads the latest reported cases.
“The influenza continues to rotate widely throughout Illinois,” said Dr. Samir Fahra, Director of IDPH.
