ELMHURST Hospital, owned by Endaavor Health, will close this summer wound care clinic this summer, according to a statement issued by the company.
The closure announced after Indefor for six of its hospitals, including ELMHURST, obtained “A” hospital safety and quality care degree as part of a recent report from an independent Leapfrog.
The hospital said that the clinic, which focuses on advanced treatment for chronic wounds such as diabetes, end -of -slices, pressure and wounds of surgery or shock, will not provide services that start on June 17, 2025. Wound care services in internal patients will remain available.
No closure was provided.
“We apologize for any inconvenience that this might cause and work with our patients to transfer their care in time to a more suitable location for them,” the hospital said in an e -mail statement to NBC Chicago. Endavor Health added that the change affects “a very small number of employees (less than 10).”
Endifor said that her wound clinic at Edward Hospital, about 18 miles southwest in Naberfille, will continue to work.
According to the Endavor Health website, wound care clinics in the hospital system provides a specialized specialized care for the treatment of chronic wounds.
The hospital said, “A wound injury does not heal can affect your entire life,” the hospital said. “The non -retinal wound that has not responded to traditional treatment within four weeks is a serious medical condition that requires specialized care.”
The site said that the specialized clinic also helps to coordinate family doctors for care, and coordinates home care treatment when needed.
In 2023, the University of Northshore Health System was renamed after the merger with Edward Emehrist Hospital. With nine hospitals and more than 300 care sites in the Chicago region, it is currently the third largest health system in Illinois.
In January 2025, the hospital system handed over nearly 100 people in a transfer to “stopping psychological services to internal patients” at Northhes Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The hospital indicated that the demand for behavioral health services for internal patients has decreased as a reason behind employee discounts.
According to a report issued by Crain's, the hospital system had a loss of $ 127 million at a value of $ 4.4 billion in 2024.
