ABC7 spoke with Thomas Kendall, the brother of one of the victims who was seriously injured.
Kendall said his 18-year-old brother was out with friends heading to Lil Durk's concert at the United Center when a group of people on bikes approached them.
The group then tried to rob the 18-year-old and his friends, Kendall said. A struggle ensued, and that's when the suspect opened fire.
Kendall's brother was shot in the chest and is in critical condition.
Another young man (19 years old) was shot in the rib area and is in critical condition.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the hand and wounded in the stomach, and his condition is good.
The three victims are receiving treatment at Stroger Hospital, and their families said they are undergoing surgery.
At one point, ABC7 cameras were rolling as police officers ran away, but investigators say no one is in custody.
