The Roseland ceasefire was created a few years ago when residents said crime was worse.
They work directly with young people who have gotten into trouble or been victims of gun violence.
Chicago police crime data shows crime is down in the area. Staff and volunteers said they want the trend to continue.
Morgan Park resident Edna Harris said neighbors care about each other, and she appreciates the efforts of the nonprofit.
If residents don't get the message face-to-face, organizers hope people will hear their cheers during a rally Wednesday afternoon.
