A local church has bought a building on the corner previously known as Happy Liquor and Foods.
Reverend John Hana plans to breathe a new life in a building that hopes to help transform the neighborhood.
The neighbors say the wine store attracts a wrong type of business, some of which even take a different bus station to avoid this.
“People are standing outside. It is a real dangerous thing. So, I continue to walk straight. There are many cases,” said neighbor Jessica Krauder.
Last May, the police say that three men opened fire near the sidewalk, one of whom was killed.
The eighth wing Michel Harris said: “The gangs that stand in front of their door, literally, selling drugs to society,” said the eighth wing of Michel Harris. “When you have someone to choose in front of your door, it brings all this negative movement.”
Ultimately, the company was closed, when New Life Fantant entered southeast and priest John Hana the equation and bought the property.
“We have known that there is a lot of potential in this society,” said Reverend Hana. “We knew that there are people who wanted to see change in this society, so we will not allow negative to abandon positivity.”
Reverend Hana said that he looks at this transformation as a mission from God.
He hopes to convert the area into a grocery store and a medical facility that includes dental services and consulting and even leaving space for small companies.
Hana said: “We do a prayer on street 79 every year.” “We were walking across this store for 15 years, and finally, we should not walk in the past. We can put the flag on the ground.”
