CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police said more than a dozen vehicles were broken into and items stolen from inside, including unsecured guns.
Police said most of the thefts occurred during the night and early morning hours in southern Michigan and southern Wabash.
In each incident, the thief broke into an unlocked parked car and stole the items inside, police said.
In all but one of the 15 thefts, an unsecured gun was stolen from the vehicle.

2100 block of S. Wabash Ave on August 9, 2024 at 11:00 PM
2300 block of S. Wabash Ave on August 15, 2024 between 1:00 a.m. and 1:54 a.m.
2000 block of S. Wabash Ave on August 28, 2024 at 2:40 AM
2200 Block of S. Wabash Ave September 7-8, 2024 between 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
2200 block of S. Michigan Ave September 7-8, 2024 between 11:05 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
