chicago – A gunman is on the run after breaking into a home and shooting someone he knew on Chicago's West Side, police said.
The shooting happened around 5:44 a.m. inside a residence in the 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard. A 37-year-old man was inside the house when the gunman, someone he knew, forced his way in and opened fire.
The citizen was shot in the left shoulder and was taken to the hospital, where his condition was described as good.
No other injuries were reported.
The suspect fled to an unknown destination and was not arrested.
District 4 detectives are investigating.
