chicago – A 14-year-old boy was arrested this week in connection with a series of robberies and assaults on CTA platforms over the past five weeks.
The juvenile faces multiple felony charges, including four counts of aggravated battery of a transit employee or passenger, four counts of robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, one count of armed robbery with a firearm, and one count of aggravated robbery with a firearm.
The charges stem from incidents that occurred at various locations, including the following:
Nov. 13, 8:45 p.m.: 1100 block of West Argyle Street; The victim was a 21-year-old man.Nov. 13 at 10:40 p.m.: 1100 block of West Granville; The victim was a 44-year-old man.Nov. 16 at 9 p.m.: 1100 block of West Bryn Mawr; The victims were a 22-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman.Nov. 24 at 4:52 a.m.: 1100 block of West Thorndale; The victim was a 32-year-old man.Nov. 24 at 4:35 p.m.: 1100 block of West Thorndale; The victim was a 31-year-old manNov. 27 at 12:59 a.m.: 1100 block of West Argyle Street; The victim was a 36-year-old man.Dec. 17 at 11:20 p.m.: 1100 block of West Bryn Mawr; The victim was a 56-year-old woman.
Police identified the teenager as one of the perpetrators involved in the incidents, which primarily occurred on train platforms.
The juvenile was arrested on Thursday and charged with the crimes. The authorities did not release further details.
