Dr. Emily Chase has been named Chair of the Chicago Go Red Women's Campaign for 2024-2025
CHICAGO, August 26, 2024 – As the local and national movement for gender equity in health care continues, Emily Chase, MD, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the University of Chicago Medical Center, has been named this year's chair of the Go Red for Women initiative. campaign. Since 2004, Go Red for Women has addressed gaps in awareness and clinical care regarding the largest health threat to women, cardiovascular disease.
“Emily Chase embodies true leadership and commitment to building equitable health care practices at one of our city’s leading hospitals,” said Megan Geiger, associate vice president of development for Go Red for Women at the American Heart Association of Chicago.
“In addition to her focus on building strong health care systems, Emily’s dedication to educating future health care providers is the embodiment of a core part of Go Red for Women’s mission, which is to empower women at every age and stage of life by giving future generations the tools to achieve success. A graduate of Saint Mary's College, where she is an Assistant Professor, Dr. Chase has applied her background in nursing and management to drive change in both nursing practice and education at health systems such as the University of Chicago Medicine as well as N&P University. Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital. Dr. Chase is also generous with her time and knowledge, volunteering as a board member at Valparaiso University in Indiana.

Dr. Chase holds a Ph.D. He holds a doctorate in nursing research and management from the University of Illinois and is a graduate of the Wharton Nurse Leaders Program through the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Dr. Chase is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
