Chicago French Press owner Chris Christian served up a special coffee for attendees at the United Center, and will be serving her locally roasted coffee at McCormick Place.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about an opportunity,” Christian said. “I feel like this is the right time. The time is now.”
ABC7 met with Christian at her store on the University of Chicago campus in Hyde Park.
“It's freshly roasted here in the Windy City, so finding great coffee that's owned by black people or women is something I think people can take with them after the conference.”

Among the companies listed in the DNC’s supplier directory is Brown Sugar Bakery, which received an unexpected visit from Vice President Kamala Harris in 2021.
“It was amazing, but what was even more amazing was that every year since she arrived in 2021, they get a Christmas card from her,” said Stephanie Hart, owner of Brown Sugar Bakery.
In honor of the Democratic presidential nominee, Hart created the “Kamala Cake.” A dark chocolate cake with a German chocolate filling of nuts and coconut, it also features a caramel and chocolate whipped cream, representing Harris's and many Americans' multicultural roots.
“It’s real,” Hart said. “It’s real. It’s delicious, and it’s sweet. I’m really proud to do something small to hopefully inspire people to get involved and speak out and get out and vote.”
