More than 50,000 runners will take to the streets Sunday for the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. But before they hit the pavement, they'll need to pick up their packs, and maybe pick up some swag along the way.
The Abbott Health and Fitness Expo begins at Chicago's McCormick Place on Thursday. Not only does this event pick up packages and bags for participants, it also offers runners — and the public — the opportunity to wander through running vendors, pick up Chicago Marathon swag and more.

What's in the packages and participant bags?
Participant package items include:
Bib Number* and Safety Pins, MYLAPS ThinTag Timing Device, Gear Check Tag, Participant Nike Running Shirt, Participant Bag
*Registered participants ages 21 or older will receive a tag on their bib number redeemable for one beer after the race.
Racers will also be given a commemorative sticker that can be added to their bibs in honor of the late world record holder Kelvin Kiptum, who won the 2023 race just months before his death in a car accident.
What else is in the exhibition?
According to organizers, the show will feature more than 160 exhibitors offering merchandise along with new running shoes, apparel, nutrition and technology.
The three-day exhibition is free and open to the public.
